Jay Thakkar, M.D.
Jay Thakkar, M.D. is a Chicago native who completed his undergraduate degree in Chemistry at Loyola University. After earning his medical degree from the Ross University, School of Medicine, Dr. Thakkar completed his Family Practice residency at Bon Secours Hospital in Detroit, MI.
Dr. Jay Thakkar is board certified in Family Practice and manages a successful private practice in St. Charles, IL. In addition to his clinic work, he is active at Delnor Hospital, Sherman Hospital, in the Tri-City community, as well as several local nursing homes. His patient population consists of geriatric, adult and pediatric medicine.
Hemalini Thakkar, M.D.
Hemalini Thakkar, M.D. was raised in the Chicago-metro area and graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. She then attended Ross University, School of Medicine and completed her internship at North Oakland Medical Center in Pontiac, MI. Dr. Thakkar went on to complete her Family Practice Residency at Bon Secours Hospital in Detroit, MI.
Dr. Hemalini Thakkar is board certified in Family Practice and works with her husband in their private practice. They have 3 daughters and live in the community. She sees patients of all ages and has special interests in women’s health, adolescent and pediatric medicine.
Barbara DeCarlo, APN
Barbara DeCarlo, APN has over 20 years’ experience as an RN and many years’ experience as a family nurse practitioner. She received both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Northern Illinois University. She joined West Gate Family Medicine in 2012.
As a nurse practitioner Barbara provides a broad range of health care services with a special focus on health maintenance and education. Nurse practitioners can diagnose, treat, order tests and prescribe medications, as well as educate and counsel you about your health. Barbara treats individuals of all ages. She can help with everything from the everyday coughs, colds, allergies, bumps and bruises, as well as the management of high blood pressure, diabetes, stress management and depression. Special interests include ADHD and mental health, women’s health, children and adolescents. Outside of work Barbara is devoted to family. She is married and has 2 sons and a daughter.
